We have recently seen more cases of fly-tipping in the parish, including garden waste and household rubbish being dumped.
Please remember that dumping waste illegally is a serious offence. The law says that all waste must be disposed of properly and safely. This includes garden waste, which is also classed as controlled waste.
As a resident, you are responsible for making sure your waste is handled correctly. If you use a contractor (for example, a gardener), you must check that they are licensed to take and dispose of your waste.
Our parks and wildlife areas are meant for everyone to enjoy. It is disappointing to see them affected by illegal dumping. Fly-tipping damages the environment, harms wildlife, and costs money to clear up—costs that are ultimately paid by local residents.
The Council takes this issue seriously. Where possible, action will be taken against offenders, which may result in fines or prosecution.
We ask all residents to:
- Dispose of waste using authorised services or recycling centres
- Make sure contractors remove waste legally
- Report any fly-tipping incidents to the Council, with as much detail as possible
