Sunninghill Parochial Charities was incorporated on 2 Feb 1894 and for over 130 years has been responsible for providing and maintaining almshouses in South Ascot and Cheapside new for the benefit of elderly people of limited means who have a strong association with the Parish of Sunninghill and Ascot, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

The immediate challenge the charity faces is the increasing cost of maintaining the Almshouse in South Ascot and Cheapside. We want to be able to provide affordable accommodation for elderly people of limited means well into the future.

The charity is seeking 2 trustees to join the Board as soon as possible.

Ideally candidates will be based locally and have some general administrative experience and/or a good understanding of property management – but a desire to make a difference in the community and a good sense of humour will go a very long way.

These are voluntary positions and there is no remuneration.

In terms of time commitment – the Board meets 4 times per year and in general meetings last 2 – 3 hours. The trustees are a very friendly group and new trustees will receive induction training about the charity and what it means to be a charity trustee.
